Eliza Smith has never been the one to seek a relationship. She agrees on a casual fling with Gage, but soon they’ll both see how the fling will blur into something they can’t control and when it’s finally time for Eliza to go and accomplish her own dreams, she’ll know there’s more she took from Gage than she ever thought possible.

This is book one of a series and this review contains a few spoilers. This is my first book by this author and the writing is okay. Eliza, a virgin is 21 and the daughter of the manager for the band Firenine. She had an abusive childhood before she went to live with her dad and is somewhat of a recluse and has never been kissed by a boy. Her dad talks her in to going on tour with him and the band to try to live a little. The lead singer, Gage was her high school crush and is a few years older than her. He flirts with her even though he has a girlfriend he fly’s in to different cities on the tour and in between he is with other women right in front of Eliza. He actually gets up from a table to go have bathroom sex with a complete stranger in a restaurant! Even though they are not a couple its evident they both are attracted to each other so his being a manwhore is a major turn off and you wish she would be with someone else to spite him!!! She continually turns him down and he gives her no reason to want to be with him due to his actions but does she tell him that? NO. She decides to have a non-emotional fling with him knowing the way he is after they make out drunkenly at a arty. Their relationship stays to just making out for weeks but then they finally do hook up. By the end of the summer they have admitted their love for each other. He continues to allow himself to be blackmailed into staying with his girlfriend to not expose his past family life. Due to this he doesn't see her the last 2 nights on tour to be with Penelope. Eliza has to go back to college and he wants her to stay with him on tour. She chooses school so she can accomplish something in her life and she feels he can’t or won’t give up Penelope or other women. These characters are from the same hometown and will eventually see each other again after his tour I would think so he should support her decision.This book had a lot of potential however there seems to be timing, weird discrepancies and inconsistency issues that cause the reader to be confused. Either the band isn’t a headliner or they play concerts during daylight hours because there is time after their shows to go shopping before 10pm to buy clothes for parties. Also its unrealistic for a band member to be physically beaten/abused by his stepfather while on tour and no one does anything about it. They are all adults and nothing is done until Eliza witness’s it!. I also would think someone with a heart transplant would have a noticeable scar and take tons of anti rejection pills daily too. Some things do get explained further into the book but you are already frustrated by that point. If I had not bought book one and two at the same time I would not read book 2. I never reached a point of not finishing this book but I am glad it is over. 2.5 Stars

I have read a few books from this author and they were all good but honestly this book is freaking awesome. It blows all the others out of the water. How is it possible to hate one person so much but lobe them at the same time? Well that's exactly what I felt for Gage. He infuriated me, but then he broke me. He made me scowl then made me smile. He had me wanting to swiftly kick him and put his member out of commission but then I wanted to latch onto him and never let him go. Talk about infuriating. He had me all kinds of crazy.
Liza, well I felt for her. She had a hard life from the beginning but Ben rescued her and it was so comforting to know and learn about them. She was so,closed off for so many years and shelters hard self, fear of everything falling to pieces. She was a shell, she stuck to herself and didn't really have a life until Ben got her to go with him and the band FireNine where Gage was the lead singer.
Here she made friends with all of the band members especially Montana, who I so liked.
Gage sorta laid claim to her right from the get go but although Liza had an instant attraction to him she played it off not wanting to get close to him but he affected her in ways she could not control. Gage made it know more than a couple of tomes that he wanted her but Liza kept pushing away but yet being lured in. But he quickly had me so mad, he would come into her, flirt but then have Penelope or another woman on his arm or take em off for a one time romp and Liza got to witness this and she was disgusted as was I. So when Liza talked to any other he became instantly mad and jealous, he questioned her and then professed his want for her again.
Eventually Liza gives in and they have their friends with benefits thing but heck I knew it was going to be more than that. Feelings were going to get involved and things were going to get crazy and that they did.
I was fist pumping the air so many times, I was riding a high, exhilarated it was crazy. They both broke my heart for their pasts. It was sad and my heart literally hurt but then there were times I thought my heart was going to leap from my chest and do its own little happy dance. Many times I had to take deep breaths and sigh, it was just that consuming for me.
At the ending I think my heart shattered into millions of pieces, I felt like I was experiencing it all on my own, the utter desperation that Gage was throwing at Liza and I wanted to be so mad at him for what he did but heck the way he pleaded and all had me so torn up it was almost impossible to think of what he done wrong.
I have read a lot of books her lately really great ones but this book literally consumed me!!!
I had no idea there was going to be another that's the only downfall to this story I just don't want to wait. It will plague me day and night what will happen next.
