Barnum, also a showman, businessman, ‘author’ and politician. One of Barnum’s most famous aphorisms, “The bigger the humbug, the better people will like it,” could easily apply to this later demagogue who actually claimed, several weeks before the 2016 election, that he would ‘drain the swamp’ of Washington, DC.
Humbug.
